DEVS

DEVS
(Discrete Event System Specification) is a formalism for modeling and analysis of discrete event systems.

Introduced in the last century by Prof Bernard Zeigler, the DEVS mathematical formalism along with its computational platforms are widely accepted and used internationally as a rigrous and robust platform for advances in M&S technology.

FDDEVS

FDDEVS, finite deterministic DEVS, is a sub-class of DEVS that provide benefits in ease of use, leaning as well as ability to support analysis, verification, and automation.

Learning FDDEVS is relatively simple and straightforward. It provides an easy introduction to DEVS while still preserving the essential nature of the discrete event dynamic system properties such as events, timings, and model composition.

FDDEVS models can be specified using a simple natural language which can be automatically transformed into working DEVS models that can be next visualized in a simulation viewer.
